Pedal question

I have two pearl P120P Power Shifter Bass Drum Pedals and a linkage or drive shaft bar. What other parts do I need to make it into a double pedal ?

I always thought it was a lot more complicated than just having two single bass drum pedals and putting them together. The structure for each is different to the point that it's not easy making a double from two singles.

Honestly, I think it'd be better if you just bought a double bass pedal rather than trying to build your own.

Yeah, I don't really think it's a feasible thing to do. More work than necessary and I think you could better use that time and effort for something else. Besides, two single pedals are usually more expensive than just buying a double bass pedal.

yes there is a lot more to it but it can sorta be done. to start with the pedal that holds both beaters is called the slave unit.
what you can do is buy the slave unit for your pedal and the one that you have now should have a little peice sticking out at the top right, right outside of where the bearing is at and that is where you atach the connecting rod.

if you talk to your local music shop that sells pearl stuff you should be able to order the slave unit but I am here to tell you that you could probably buy the whole thing new for close to the same price.

Yep ........ better off buying the Power Shifter Eliminator Double Pedal. I own one and it's brutal. Infinately adjustable, the foot board position is also adjustable. A totally awesome pedal at a decent price. I personally use the blue cam which is alot more agressive than the standard black cam and have found that if it's speed and power you desire the red cam does fine and the new purple or yellow cam ( which do not come with the pedal ) are unreal!! I also have changed the chain with a strap from Pearl. The pedal is faster this way rather than with the chain drive. It feels faster to me, but I play way down near the hinge of the footboard and heel plate!!
