Yamaha Tour Series from the '80's???

Hello all. I have a chance to buy a drumset which was used by the band LA Guns. (I'm old I know it) It's a Yamaha Tour series and has a chrome wrap. Now, my question is ........ are these Yamaha's good? I've played Yamaha's before but they were much newer than these. I see they still offer the Tour series as there top of the line drum set, but again, we're talking from the 80's here. If anyone has info on these drums please let me know. I would love to have them .......... (don't look at the question of how much do you spend on drums?) I really want this set but I don't really know much about them or if they were even a good drum to begin with. sizes are ... 24" kick, 13" and 15" mounted toms and an 18" floor tom. Any info would be greatly apppreciated.

24 kick, 13" and 15" toms are quite rare... 22" kick, 10"and 12" mounted, 16" and 18" floor is a good deal.

Re: Yamaha Tour Series from the '80's???

I know that this is a really old thread but yes, the Tour series drums are great. I have a kit that I bought in 85, used through the 90's, sat in cases for the last ten years and popped them open recently to find that they were still in great shape.

BTW, I am on the lookout for an 8x10 Tour series tom, preferably black, but will consider any color.
