Taye is a decent drum. I have played a set at a local shop and was really surprised at the overall quality and sound. Sure the ones I played were not top of the line (although their top of the line set, is just as good as any other top of the line from anyone else also costs as much as everyone else!!) Drums nowadays are becoming better and better as far as quality and sound goes. I say if you like it, buy it!!! I would recommend upgrading the stock heads though shortly after purchasing the set.

When you consider that TAYE president is Ray Ayotte (the Famous drum builder formerly from Ayotte drums), they should know how to build good sounding kit. Actually they are very good sounding kit. The StudioMaple is the sex...

Everything I've heard about Taye has been good. They make some massive double bass kits.

I own a 7 piece Rock Pro set. Not bad at all for a mid-level kit. The hardware is pretty decent and the drum hardware is on par with other kits in the same range. The wood is a tad on the soft side though, so if you get them be careful with the bearing edges, they "bruise" VERY easily. Overall they sound pretty damn good. I have the fusion kit with the 20" kick drum though, I really miss my 22" kick
The stock heads are real crap by the way, but whose aren't??
