Premier Drums???? ARGHHHHHHH

Can someone here please explain to me what the difference is between the Premier APK and XPK drumsets???? I've gotten too many different answers from local drum shops, that I don't know who is right. I want to know how you can tell the 2 apart and what the shells are made of. I would imagine Mahogany or something of the sort, but the Premier's have got me stumped!! I can't tell the difference between any of their lines as most of them used the same badge and none of the badges (except for the artist series) indicate the series. Anyone here know Premier really well??? Thanks All!!!

We had a few XPK and APK kits at the drum studio where I used to teach - really nice drums, especially taking the price point into account. Boomin' bass drums - but, I digress...

My understanding is that one has a natural wood finish, the other a wrap. I think the APK has the wood finish, and the XPK a wrap, but don't quote me on that. Other than that, I believe that they're the same basic drums.

In terms of what they're made of, again my understanding is that they're a combination of birch with inner plies of eucalyptus.

I'm going off of conversations with the owner of the drum studio a few years ago, so I'll gladly defer to those who are more "Premier-savvy" than I, if I'm mistaken about these drums.

The reply before mine is correct. As far as I know the only difference is one is a wrapped finish and the other is a lacguer finish.

I have been informed that the XPK is a lacquer finish and the APK is a wrapped finish. The shell composition is alittle different, with the XPK's using birch in the mix of materials they used where the APK's do not. Either way both sets really DO sound great. Hey for $100 that I paid for my XPK's ...... I ain't complaining!!!!!! Thanks for the input people!!! You all Rock!!! Happy Holidays all!!!
