First post. Need bass pedal advice!

Howdy. For the last five years I've been abusing a single DW5000 pedal with the offset cam. It's performed well. I recently got the bug to try some double bass pedals. I first tried the DW9002 and was very disappointed. The action was very smooth but they just felt sluggish. I just assumed the big fat cams were just too heavy. Sooo, I anted up and picked up a pair of Trick pedals. Their engineering and ease of use is great. However, I can't get a decent amount of rebound off the head.

Is anyone else familiar with these pedals? I've made a gazillion adjustments but my old DW smokes the Tricks as far as speed and rebound go. I'd hate to have to sell these so quickly. Any suggestions?

I dunno, crank the springs up? I looked at some online, and the beaters look kinda flat. Get diffrent beaters, the DW beaters are nice but heavy, And the Slug beaters look interesting. It's amazing how a diffrent beater will change the feel of the pedal.

Ok, I think i got it. I took a closer look at the construction of the pedal and this is what I came up with: Move the beater foward in relation to the linkage. Loosen the nut that holds the beater assembly (Just to the left of the linkage assembly nut) while making sure that the linkage doesn't move, rotate the beater assembly foward in relation to the linkage assembly. You probably want the arrow pointing at -1 or lower. Moving the beater foward will make it hit the drumhead in the stronger part of the stroke. You can work with the increased bounce off the drumhead, thus placing less relaince on the internal spring. I did the same thing with my iron cobra, and it worked miracles. Let me guess, does the beater seem to suddenly run out of momentum right before it contacts the head? If so, this will probably fix that too.

Ok - I translated the post by bluemoonxqt at Dictionary.com (Polish to English) and it is spam about vacations focusing on Greece.

First of all take your time in selecting a drum set. Have a look at the general condition of the drums themselves. Are the skins in good condition, no rips or tears, check the snare drum especially for this.

The trick uses a compression spring so sadly, there are some awkward limits. I plan on getting a set of tama speed cobras eventually. They (IMO) feel weightless and brutally fast even compared to the trick or the demon drive.

Re: First post. Need bass pedal advice!

Your Foot size in relation to the Footboard on the Bass Pedal for 'Heel-Toe' technique

I think this is important. When I started using 'heel-toe' technique the footboard made a difference.

I have a 10 (US) foot. The tama iron cobra was too small. I went back to using my Pearl eliminator, it was just a little larger than the iron cobra. However I like the iron cobra for all its adjustability, streets ahead of the pearl eliminator, in that respect.

If you have a big feet I think Sonor make a pedal with a large footboard.
