Gibraltar direct-drive double kick pedal! Holy crap!!

I am absoutly, as the brits say gobsmacked after using this pedal today. I never thought I would care for a direct drive pedal, but I MUST have this. I have never played so fast. I've used the flying dragon before, but this one just owns! I just can't say enough good things about it.

It's the Gibraltar Intruder Direct drive. It's on their website. www.gibraltarhardware.com I'm selling my Iron cobra to get it. I got a chance to play it for quite a while, and there is one issue: When you lower the beater enough so that it is hitting the middle of the head, the bottom part of the beater shaft sticks out so much that it can easly scrape the head. You have to move it back pretty far for it not to. My plan is to just saw the last inch and a half of the end of the beater. The beaters are nice and lightweight and are shaped like the DW beaters.

I have a Gibraltar double kick, and I am wondering if I can make both beaters work off one pedal. Anyone?

Re: Gibraltar direct-drive double kick pedal! Holy crap!!

yea man ive played this pedal before! its pretty amazing

im interested to know, though. what price are you looking at getting it for? and what size bass drum do you have? my friend has this pedal and plays a 22" and the beater shaft doesnt hit the head at all. the beater hits the middle of the head, too. maybe when you get it try adjusting the cam position or something, and if that doesnt work then saw away i guess

if its even an adjustable cam pedal idk, just assuming that it is. ive only played it, never actually messed with it.

but im gonna end this post now.

Its a good pedal, I just don't like Direct drive any more; Lots of speed, but no power.

I have the 9002's. Are you using the straps or the chains?
