not saying to get this just to give a comparison.

Also the Gretsch Catalina is downright very awesome.
Unfortunately, I live in Australia and I have to stick with the limited number of companies who are willing to charge me the earth to post stuff here.

Yeah I did look throughly into the Gretsch, but you don't get as bigger selection of drum sizes and the virgin bass of the pro-m is very appealing.

What don't you like about the pro-m? Not many people heve been straight with me about differences, they just keep trying to sell me other crap.

Cool, I did notice that you were setting up more of a custom rig. That being the case are you seeking all new hardware too. Everything is gonna go on the rack.
So your keeping cymbals too. If you already have the hardware inc hat stands and pedals etc then it all comes down to how much you would like to spend. If you can give a $$$ value I would love to present some feasible suggestions for you.

Again not that I am saying buy this kit, the one I linked to, but shipping on that to Au is $200 US

I also at one stage had exactly your model and color pearl and thought it was a great kit, took heaps of abuse...

Yeah I beat the crap out of that thing, but I need something with more projection.

Some people tell me the pro-m is good quality, others tell me to steer clear. I can't see why myself.

I think the transparent cherry looks awesome. I'd say go with that.
