Thumbs up My next kit!

Here's a diagram of my next set of drums.

Mapex pro-m. They throw in that 12" snare for free. The cymbals, roto's and snare are all the same as current and there is also a 4 section, pearl dr 80 rack around it.

If you check out this link http://www.mapexdrums.com/drums/prom...viewer2006.htm you can help decide what finish to go for. Keeping in mind, I will not go for any wrap.

Judge my intentions harshly, please. I want to know what you guys would or would not do with this proposal.

Yeah it was the kit builder, added the cymbals in ms paint. I do like the cherry, but my current set is wine red wrap so I wanted something with some more depth. The cherry fade is also very good, but I wanted something a little less "metal" looking, while still retaining an amberish feel to it. I think I'm leaning towards the tobacco fade.

The emerald green caught my eye at first, but I thought it would be too dark on stage.

You can never go wrong with a natural finish.

Dude, I'm looking at the same-ish kit. I'm torn between the rock plus (virgin bass drum; Hell yeah!" and the fusion studio. Probably the clear black. I've already got all the cymbals and hardware that I already need minus a big, nasty china.

I think the tobacco fade will go well with what your looking for. The set is a great deal and you should definatly go for it.

I do like the natural finish, but I htought it might get a bit boring after a while, plus the fade would probably show less sratches and so forth.

The virgin bass drums are one of the key reasons I'm going for this set. Keep in mind, all bass drums are virgins and the mount is removable. I'll probably have to order the whole thing custom, but I'll get a set and add to it if it saves me money.

I'm still undecided on the shell depths. Shallow or deep, whatja reckon?

Are you buying on a budget? Cause if you are you can do way better than A Mapex pro.....IMO.. which is what you asked for....

not saying to get this just to give a comparison.

Also the Gretsch Catalina is downright very awesome.
