Looks pretty solid. If that's too heavy, have you considered the pearl dr80?

Just bought one myself. Strong, cheap, and the best part is, it folds up when your finished.

Thanks for the prompt replies guys.
Yeah its solid as. This is a prototype got some more clamps made up today. This is a hand made rack. So far very expensive.

Once this is finished. You can have anything you want. So, you like the strength of steel but want it lightweight. Next up ALL ALUMINUIM. any any color.....

Stainless steel mmmmmm all finishes....
Pipe length or height... you decide....

How many clamps you wanna bolt on?.. 4,6,8,10?

quick release.... you got it....

New feet manufactured as we speak!!!!!

So how much you wanna pay??? as much as other manufacturers? Do you want a label?

Oh forgot to mention the most important thing...

Intergrated drum riser...

Please be patient under construction.

How much for the non height adjustable proprietry no add ons or extension DR80? $100 bucks?

How much does it weigh????
Can you mount a laptop on it?
A full sized wedge?
A cooling fan for the hottest drummers in town?
Folds up into what/ does it fit in a standard traps case?

just a few questions....

How does it balance with the feet. how many toms before it tips? Would it take an air ride mounted snare.
I like the Tama racks where the uprights incorporate cymbal stands, an idea.

The height can easily take a 24" bass drum. and to be honest all the extra adjustments just get in the way when you're setting up and tearing down.

The dr80 with four clamps, three sections (900mm each) costs $169US at musicians friend.

It weighs approximately 4kgs (aluminium construction).

You can mount litteraly anything on it as its clamps are interchangeable with icon series.

The elbows are spaced to allow you to fold it up with the clamps still attached. I used to own a gibralter rack and nothing was more time consuming than taking every, bloody piece of it apart after every show. The fold up size is 900mm/ 800mm/ 150mm approx.

I'm not sure what a traps case is in size, but I assume it would not fit, but then neither would my gibralter.

The big plus being, at the end of the show the gibralter was seven different pieces. The dr80 is one.

:you swipe those from a mall or movie theater or something?

a bank.....

:Looks sturdy man. Give us some pics when you get the rest of your gear connected to it

----will certainly do this for you.....

:How does it balance with the feet? How many toms before it tips? Would it take an air ride mounted snare.
I like the Tama racks where the uprights incorporate cymbal stands, an idea.

---These feet are not intended to be a front rack but a full 3 sided system. This is only a developing design using materials begged and borrowed. So these feet are being replaced.

---As shown with round feet 3 toms and 4 cymbals.

Air ride snare, you bet mate!!!!! thats the idea

----upright cymbals from legs yes.....

R80
:24" bass drum.

----a 32 inch kick is catered for in this rack

-----Dr 80 clamps are say $30au each

----These will come in around $15 and their very special....

:You can mount literally anything on it as its clamps are interchangeable with icon series.

------Interesting.....

---These clamps are patent pending shock mount system that removes energy, sub and extraneous frequency from the floor and stops the metal of the connecting arms transfer any energy up or down. This allows for a fresh drum sound and responsive bright attacks and real deacys.

:The dr80 with four clamps, three sections (900mm each) costs $169US at musicians friend.

----So thats $214au at todays rate. Does this include shipping?

---This yet to be named rack with 6 clamps, variable height, 1000mm Square horizontals, 94cm 60mm verticals will retail for around $300AU. In Aluminium. All other materials are yet to be price structured. Stainless is gonna look amazing!!!!
Weight as yet unknown. Being alloy though will be comparable in weight. estimate 4.5 kgs.

:the elbows are spaced to allow you to fold it up with the clamps still attached. I used to own a gibralter rack and nothing was more time consuming than taking every, bloody piece of it apart after every show. The fold up size is 900mm/ 800mm/ 150mm approx.

--agreed----

----You do need to remove your pipes for toms and cymbals.
This 3 sided rack will be a quick release full pull apart system, or a fold up system. Giving flexiblity in transport and ease of setup and tear down.

:I'm not sure what a traps case is in size, but I assume it would not fit, but then neither would my gibralter.

---this rack will.....
