Up north we have to order stuff in - sight unseen. I'm ordering a Renown kit tomorrow, and I am concerned that the 5 inch snare may be too sharp for my taste - I'm a blues fanatic - and a have decided to upgrade to the 6.5 inch one, which also has 10 lugs instead of 8. I hope this kit lasts me for many years, and I would hate to make a mistake on the snare.

I'd certainly go for the 6.5, especially after the extra lugs bit.

My current snare is 6.5 and is plenty sharp for me.
