I am currently restoringa set of 67 Ludwigs. The toms are good, but the bass drum is beyond repair. I will be picking up another bass, but will have to re-wrap it. Does anyone know of a source for a matching wrap? It's gold sparkle, and I need to get something that looks the same or extremely close.

Well done Chicagoed! I don't know how you feel, but since i finished wrapping my kit, i have enjoyed the kit. maybe it's from the achievement of finishing rebuild the complete kit and give them a new lease of life or maybe a relief it all turned out o.k. The drums don't sound any different, but are just a pleasure to play, may be the colour of something, but anyway i'm proud of my effort, and you should be too, they look great.

These drums actually belonged to my best buddy of over 30 years. We played in bands together, and he is the reason I play drums. He got this set from a cousin, in not so great condition in 1974. We used them in the band for a few years, until he got a set of Slingerlands. These were used as rehearsal set. They have been in my garage for 17 years, the last 7 just collecting dust. When he moved a few years ago, he told me I could have them, and do whatever I wanted with them. Well...I decided a few months ago to restore them, and surprise him with them as a gift. I hope he likes them as much as I do. They got a lotta history in them. And yes...they are fun to play !! I dont remember them sounding this good...but I am sure they did.
