It's looking nice. Really freaking good for making it by hand.

Do you have any suggestions on a good rack but at budget cost? I checked musicians friend and saw a couple, but I was wondering if you knew of any off brand racks that might be decent.

I've just gone with the pearl dr-80 and it's great.

Cheap, strong, lightweight, folds up after use. Check it out.

Cheers There are the 2 majors Pearl, Gibralter. I think Pacifica are into it too.
There is a couple of others as well, can't think of their names.
Pearl is the only only that makes a square horizontal that I can find.
Skin is right the dr-80 is good value on a budget, though it does not have height adjustment for the horizontal.
Gibralter would be the most versatile with a million different options.
None of it is cheap though

Thanks givemethebeat and skinslapper . I'll have to go check out the Pearl rack. I'm gonna have a look at the Gibraltar ones as well.

i'm not sure if anyone knows this, but if you really want to save money, and build a setup that is totally rock solid, go to the home improvement store and grab some 1 1/4" electrical EMT conduit. i've built 20+ rack systems for people, and sure it weighs a bit more, but it won't get all bent up. who really
needs chrome? i've painted mine a bunch of colors,i just don't paint the parts were the clamps attach. and the cost? $13.50 for a 10' section. you can get a pipe cutter($12.00) and cut to length. save money for clamps off of ebay,
the EMT fit all tama, gibraltar, yamaha and pacific clamps. you can even get 90 degree bends($4.50) pre made, and get some 1 1/4" tube connectors ($2.00) to put together. check out my "other" set, it has both lower and upper tier, all for $48.50. the clamps always cost you, but in the long run, you get what you want, not whats available. I build custom kits, and this
get the most response!
and it breaks down into managble parts.my rack cost me

The gibraltar's get really expensive as you add clamps and booms. but worth it, as far as i'm concerned. I think I've got nearly $500 tied up in mine. The cool thing is that whatever your needs, Gibraltar racks can be built to it. I might try Madcats idea for my home kit.

Well, I'm probably going to try Madcats pipe idea, as someone stole my car today and my rack was in it. Oh well.
