hardware upgrade

Hey guy's,I want to hear of your experiences and preferences when it comes to hardware.Mainly cymbal stands and snare stands.I am going to get all new hardware and with all the choices I figured your advice would help.I have been using old Pearl's with the UniLock tilters for over 10 years now and have no complaints. The UniLock is sweet.I can say I hate notched(gear type)tilters,I always seem to need the cymbal or drum right where it won't go.Have you guys seen the S2000 snare stand from Pearl?http://www.musiciansfriend.com/produ...and?sku=448698
Sweetness!
Do other stands like Tama,DW, or Yamaha have geared tilters?

That's a pretty sweet looking snare stand! The only one I found by Tama that was pro quiality had a notched tilter. Still, can't hurt to take a look.

One of the uni locks on my export broke after two years and when the guy at my shop said he couldn't fix it, that was common and the new notch replacement was $60 cheaper, I took the step backwards.

I've since been told they fixed the problem and I would have no reservations with the cymbal stands, but for the beating tom arms take, I'm happy to stick with the old school.

Even though i have Tama drums i use the Pearl non geared tilter stands (model B850w when i got them 15 years ago)they are just so much more versatile for cymbal placement, and are solidly built.

The pearl S-2000 snare stand is the best available. No question. If you get one of these it will last a lifetime. Amazing stuff. the 2000 series stands are the bomb too..
However.. The cymbal stands very heavy and for a guy with more than a few cymbals, a rack is the way to go with the 2000 series hardware.

I have to comment on the snare stand it is the ultimate in ease, and positioning.

i love the uni lock system and if you do too the 2000 series will blow you mind... it did mine...
