That's how I mix with my band and it sounds pretty good.
Ya I agree The Tuneing bibal can help with that, and You or guys at the local music store can probably tune any drum to the sound wanted. also sent a picture, Ill send a view from behint my thrown presently, and Try to find a picture of my friends Kit(1 of a cymbal stand 1 of a snair stand, fairly flat)

ozark drum co.

hi, yes there is a difference...your pitch is different, tone, but it also depends on how many plies 6-8-10,and up. the thinner the ply, the deeper the tone, thicker gives you a higher pitch.also whether it is wraped or laquered.finnaly your head choise, and muffling.i hope this has been helpfull.you can visit my web site at www.ozarkdrums.com thanks, mike. Relly i think i might be the only one here that knows the differince, the differince is 2 inches, relly you can tune a 20 to could like a 22 (just i profer 22" i thinks its more pro like).

Relly i think you should go past all standerds and get a 16" kick drum. my dream kit in inches, relly i think you should make my dream kit(Uhuh).

16" kick
toms:8" 10" 12" 14" flore
snair: 12" if they make them
cymbals:
14" hi-hat top for ride
12" legecy splash(cant spell)
10" AAX reg
8" splashes put to make hats(mine would be B8 under Acustom if they make)
12" mini china
splash: sounds quiet but do they make 6" splashes? or mabe no splashes

Ok, Ok, Im relly 4ft7",(I might be able to grow 50ft@@@), not 5ft7", but rellyI was thinking of calling it a Doldrum kit, or Paris Hilton kit(means not needed, and could be put in jail), what are you 6ft 7" or something? Huh huh?

Relly a friend of mine,(on my myspace, works in my faverite music store) plays a "groove percusion"drum kit with a 16" kick, He constructs his own kick heads, I try to find out his secrets again.

You're gonna end up with more bottom end from your floor tom than your kik drum w/ a 16.And you said you r into rock/punk.Dude your kick will have to be mic'd or triggered all the time.
