so, you still gonna get the verve maple birch? and ty, I love my new kit, only difference is I have a 3003(just 2 years older)m and it's a fusion which is nice and OMG it sounds great even though it has stock heads. But yea, that Verve should be one heck of a kit for ya to start out, wish I'da been able to start on something like that. And lastly, being you mentioned bashing in the set ummm :P Watch some stuff and learn how to hit everything correct so you don't crack any heads and cymbals in the first week :P And make sure you tune your drums right so you don't dent the batter heads

can get 16, 13, and 12in. heads...
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/produ...ead?sku=447850
clear EC2's there.
dunno if you want resonant heads(bottom) yet so yea. And do you wanna get a bass batter and resonant head also? Or keep those stock?
When you tune more, it'll take less time. And if you're talking about the drum dial, well it makes it easier I guess/faster but if you get used to using a drum key you should be fine. If you want better accuracy when tuning get the drum dial, if you're fine without perfection I guess you could say, just get a $2 drum key
Yes hi hats are different than a crash, They're usually 13 and 14in. and you use 2 ummm iono how to explain what I hi hat is lol, it's 2 cymbals that iono how to explain it :P watch a vid lol if the drummer is right handed the hats will be on his/her left side usually. you press the pedal, they close and make a chik sound, you open slightly they make a crshhhhhh sound and opened they ping and are like a small ride I guess.

The Verve kit looks Like a decent set up to start on, I wouldn't rush right out and get new heads (or cymbals either) practice tuning, and learning basic technique on the old ones till you wear them out. Might have a better idea of what you want the drum kit to sound like after you've played a little bit, and if you break a head, or cymbal becuase you hit it wrong you won't be too bummed out since you plan to replace them anyway.

That is a bummer tease you with part of the set, but hold one box back so you can't start putting it together. I think delivery people do that stuff on purpose. Hope you get well soon to enjoy your set. Hopefully there will be instructions in the missing box. There is quite a bit of information on line about setting up a kit, try google if you get stuck. Good Luck
