What are your likes? BTW, if you like the show, the Boston Blue Man Group is excellent. Small venue, bar in the lobby etc.

I Presently Play A Classic Ludwig Maple Set Zep Set Up. Before This Set I Slid Out Of Retirement To A Set Of Hb`s . Twenty Some Odd Years Ago I Played On Double Bass Slingerlands. I Like The Sounds I`m Hearing From The Factory Weather Kings, But When It Comes Time For Heads There`ll Be Emporors On Top Ambssadors On Bottom

Re: What brand kit do you play and why?

I have a Yamaha Beech Custom with 10", 12", 14", and 16" toms (technically all mounted) but I moved the 12" to where the 14" normally is and the 14" to where the 16" usually is. I leave the 16" off. Before that set I had a Maxwin by Pearl (got it for Christmas when I first started). I love my set I have now; it is extremely versatile, both in sound and set-up options. It even looks great, and I doubt I'll get rid of it anytime soon.

Re: What brand kit do you play and why?

Well, when I started playing at age 14, I got a cheaper Premier kit with a ZBT Cymbal pack. When I first got my kit, I would spend about 3 hours a day on that thing. The problem was, it didn't take me long to realize that what I had was not very good. The sound of the cymbals drove me insane especially the ride! Well, I started saving my pennies and I quickly went out and got a Pearl Export kit at age 16. It was what I could afford at the time and it is still what I play on. So, currently my set up is a Pearl Export Fusion Kit with a Pearl Maple Piccolo Snare. I liked the Pearl sound at that age and still feel like I get a good sound from it especially out of the bass drum. I like the Evans G2 Clear batters and the Aquarian Superkick II is a MUST in my opinion. I obviously would like to buy a new kit but I have my sights set on a few other things that would drain me financially like a Dunnett 14"x6.5" Stainless Steel snare which has one of the most amazing sounds I have ever heard! I also have a completely different cymbal set up but that was not the topic of the post now was it?
