Re: heel toe help please!

if what you get is like a doubled roll then it's being played right Don't matter how you play it, long as the outcome is the same. All drummers play differently and have there own styles, whatever works for you best is teh right way IMO.

yeah i tried the heel toe thing, but i didnt really understand the method. Any way i just play with the heel down on both pedals at all times. Is this considered wrong? is there an advantage in lifting your feet up and down or not?

Re: heel toe help please!

Here's drummerworld forum member Derrick Pope heel-toe lessons.

Start from there and practice. I've done it two years ago (it wasn't with this lesson though) and I can achieve good speed with my right foot and now (since I have a double pedal) I'm working on my left foot to obtain the same speed and being able to play the double bass heel-toe method ( like Marco Minneman).

BTW, there's two different method for double bass heel-toe method.

RF heel - LF heel - RF toe - LF toe
or
RF heel-toe - LF heel-toe (that's the one I'm practicing now).
