Selling my old kit, and maybe getting an acyrlic. Hello guys.....New to the forums. Was looking for a place to talk about drums and this looked like a good place to start. So I've been playing a Vintage blue Tama Rockstar, 7 piece (really a 6 piece, but sometimes I have a second snare) for 8 years now and I'm looking to buy a new Kit so I have a few questions I'm hoping you can help me out with.
One: How much do you suppose I could sell my old kit for, I would love to keep it, but i just don't have the money. I want something better, and I'm willing to settle for a smaller set up. Tama Rockstar bought in 2000, very good condition. Brand new Remo emps, and coated ambassador snare.
toms: 10",13",15",16" floor (standard for the rockstar then the 10" was added later)
14" snare
22" bass
two Tama boom stands
one Tama straight stand
two Tama tom mounts & clamps
one Tama boom arm clamp
Bass Mounted Tom hardware
Tama Throne
No pedal
Complete set of soft cases
What would you be willing to pay for this?
Two: With the money I'm looking to get a new Kit and I happened to come by these Acrylic kits at acrylicdrumsheaven.com
Now I've been looking around the internet and from what I read these new acrylics have really boomed since Ludwig reissued Bonhams Vistalite kit. I did a forum search and couldn't find any threads addressing this.
Are they worth it? How do they sound compared to traditional wood? And does anyone have any experience with that RCI brand?
Looking forward to your opinions. thank you! |
