Re: PDP Platinum

My son's set was the X7 Maple "lacquer"in lime green, the wrapped sets scared me because we keep our kit in the garage and I worried about humidity and the finish separating from the shell .I need to call DW and see if they could custom a floor tom in lime. thanx.

I was in my local dealer this morning and asked the drum guy about this, he pulled up his latest info and here in Canada, the Platinum series is listed by their distributor as "no longer available". The X7 is now the highest level of PDP drums we can buy up here.

were in a recession. theres no time for new colors

Re: PDP Platinum

I've afraid you're missing my point. My post had nothing to do with NEW finishes, it had to do with the fact that PDP has drastically reduced the number of finishes available. I also noticed that their 22 inch bass drums and the snare drums in their shell packs on everything below the Platinum series are now 8 lug drums instead of 10. I have a CX series fusion kit with 10 lug bass and snare.

Re: PDP Platinum

I play on the Platinum series. Haven't played them for too long, but I can tell you they sound good in the studio.
