Thinking of buying Gretsch Catalina Club Jazz

I've been looking around for an acoustic set after playing an electronic (roland td-3)for about a year. I really miss the acoustic feel and sound .I want something i can lug outside my house, but I want a good set. My first set was a little cheap, verve percussion. I like the gretsch sets. I was looking at the Catalina Club Jazz because of the 18 inch kick, and I really like the looks of it, especially the white. My question though is, What kind of problems will I run into with the bass drum riser. Will it allow for my kick pedal to be positioned properly, or will it cause it to be farther away from the head - forcing me to compensate. If it does, can it be fixed later on? I currently use a double dw-7000 pedal. i play mostly Christian rock and acoustic stuff. also, if anyone owns this set, do you like the sound? does the bass drum achieve the volume you need?

Never had an 18" kick and it makes sense youd adjust, but you might just adjust.....Go to a shop and play any 18" kick with a 7000 pedal and see how it feels. As far as sound goes, I've heard some smokin' 18's, but thats your preference. And be careful, you don't want to be the drummer that booted the big guy right out of his own house!
