Premier Singia Marquis Snare - some history found Hi fellow drummers.
I just bought a Premier Signia Marquis 14x5.5 snare drum from a local retailer. It was a new snare other than it was used in the studio a few times I think. I'm trying to find out when it was made and what it is made of - I think it's maple.
The badge says it was made in England. I'd post a photo but can't do that - not authorized here yet I guess.
Does anyone know if this snare could have been made in this decade?
JUST RECIEVED A REPLY (MAY 10 08) from a Premier internet site.
The following is copied straight from the email:
"As far as I have been able to find out the Signia Marquis were made from about 1997 until about 2002.
The shell is 6mm/5ply North American Maple with no support rings. Marquis have die-cast hoops. They were made in the Premier factory in Leicester, England. As far as I know the factory never kept records of the serial numbers."
