Can you help me find a good sight for tuning my snare

Im looking to get a pop and or crack... Heard there was a difference. I have looked through forums and they were mostly talking about the artist... Im trying to keep it simple...

P.S. Im looking for the Deathcore/ metal sound, I find it versatile

Steel or Brass snares will get that sound you're looking for. But get the DRUM DIAL first to see if it's not the snare.

For a good pop/crack, like Jim said, it may be the shell material as part of tat sound, steel or brass would be my guess as well...

But for head selection I'd lean towards the Evans HD Dry with reverse power dot on the batter side, and a Evans Snare-side G1. You may want to look into different snare wires too that are less buzzy and give a more focused "crack" sound... Heavier gauge wires tend to have less buzz and more punch, but are less sensitive, so you may need to play with that one a bit.

Good Luck!

Im currently using a HD dry (my last two heads were) and a Hazy 200 reso,
Flanged batter and a dicast reso,
1/2 inch polyester strap,
and 14x12 snares

the local snare God is telling me to get a Remo ambassador reso... Im looking at buying a Aquarium Hi energy (which he used on a Demo He was on).

What is the thing about the reversed dot part?

I just got a really good pop, I cranked my Batter up a wile ago and kept it ever since.
My Resonant up, I also tightened my (12 strand) snare up.
