Question ludwig "tunable" tambourines

just got a ludwig LE4004 tambourine from one of the big catalog stores. It was described in the catalog copy as tunable. I have seen ludwig tambourines with tension rods, and lugs. This is a tack headed tambourine, I can't see any way to tune it. It gets stranger because, for the life of me, I can't find a single contemporary photo of this model or any other ludwig tambourine. Any info on current ludwig tambourines, what constitutes tuning apparatus, photo sources, tunable or non-tunable descriptions, etc. would be a great help. thanks!

Return it. Tacked on heads are not usually ideal and the head will stretch over time. I ASSUME you are talking about a tambourine WITH a head (google pandeiro). Otherwise ya can't tune nuttin'

Re: ludwig "tunable" tambourines

yeah, it's got a head. I think there are some fine tacked head tambourines, and I guess I don't mind replacing head eventually, I didn't pay a lot for it. But I have to agree with you, there's no way to tune it, and I don't think it should be advertised as such. I'll probably see if they'll exchange it for a tunable model, ask them to change product description, other wise i'll return it. thanks for the input.
