Re: Mapex Saturn or...

Hey DER TROMMLER I bookmarked the info on drum bits you posted very interesting and informative where do you find info like that? I have something for you if you like JAZZ look up
STEVE SMITH ON YOUTUBE AND TYPE IN RATTLETRAP if you like JAZZ you will like this.I'm a JAZZ fan I took lessons from a JAZZ TEACHER who was in BIG BANDS I took lessons for 12 years I wanted to keep going but he told me that he can't teach me anymore whatever he can do I can do but if I want to continue on with my reading of drum charts lets keep going so we did for a while longer then I moved to Vegas. I have great results with students that I teach I use the same methods on my students as my teacher used on me, and believe me it works. Send me back some feedback on STEVE SMITH

Re: Mapex Saturn or...

You know I stumble across some pretty cool sites while I read around. Part of my pure passion for drumming has spilled over into my reading and so I manage to find sites like these in my search to read about drums.

I will take a look at Steve Smith for sure and post back, thanks for the tip slingerland!

I own a Mapex Saturn Fusion. Best sounding kit I have owed. You will be challenged tuning it as it takes some time to get used to Walnut inner shells. Works great with Weather King heads. Don't use Aquarians they are to heavy.

I own a Mapex Saturn series drum kit in Black Cherry sparkle and couldn't be happier! The quality and craftsmanship is exceptional. The price is very affordable.

You can't get a better made drum for less anywhere in the world.
Pound for pound, nothing comes close!
If you haven't played a Saturn yet, What are you waiting for?
You won't be disappointed! Test drive one today, You'll be happy you did.

Re: Mapex Saturn or...

I own a 6 piece Mapex Saturn Kit and I am totally satisfied with it. Really good hardware and the dark walnut with maple can give you some interesting tunings that set this kit apart from many others sound wise. I would not buy anything else in my opinion. I bought this kit after hearing many kits played in the drum store by the owner. The sound of the Saturn just stood out to the sound I wanted. Very loud kit without being miked and does not sound generic like most kits i have heard live. From what i understand mapex is now part of sonor as well.

Re: Mapex Saturn or...

(Yamaha Recording Custom Any other kits that you would recommend over those two for around $1000-1500? Thanks.)

I have never seen a Recording Custom Kit for this amount unless you traded in something worth two times that amount. Cheapest i have ever seen R Cus was 5 pc for 3000 to 3500 with NO hardware. PJ
