Re: Rockwood Honor Drums?

ya guys thanks, but i dont see any online stores that are really trusty which sell the hohner drumsets, much less a double bass version like in the add. i e-mailed the seller and requested pics, however.

Re: Rockwood Honor Drums?

Well Mr. buc28, I hope this clears up this matter. I'm at a dead end here.

Good Luck and happy drumming.

Re: Rockwood Honor Drums?

Had to chime in here. I just replaced this very kit you speak of. To my knowledge it is about as entry level as it gets for drums. I knew after about 6 months of first learning to play them that they are only entry level and are basically a good way to go to decide if this is the instrument you want to play. If it's not then you haven't spent much money and it's not a big deal. However, if it is something you take to, then you'll be saving to buy a much nicer kit.

Hi Taino, Der T.

Longer does not -necessarily- means better.
But sometimes it does help to have a longer harmonica so you can play through more octaves.
That is why I love my Chromatic Hohner 270, the same style that Larry Adler, Toets Tielemans and Stevie Wonder use. After the drums, the harmonica's are my next favorite thing. I have close to thirty of them, in various styles and keys.
I do play them while drumming, being it a simple beat, which makes one respect drummer/singers like Don Henley and Karen Carpenter because it for sure aint easy!

Cheers and Happy Drumming,

Harry

Re: Rockwood Honor Drums?

Harry,
I still have my father's old Honor. He played it all the time since he was in the military. Sometimes I would come home from school to hearing him playing as I came in through the door. He also played the xylophone.
But not at the same time.

Those were the good old days. Made in Germany and bought there when his ship was there. That was before I was on the planning commission.

Re: Rockwood Honor Drums?

Neatsfoot oil is better my friend. Same oil used for boots and saddles.

Gives it that new leather smell too.

An air compressor to blow it out will keep it in tune. Just don't go the 1.5lb limit.

If you go to Honor.com, you'll also get linked up with the Sonor Drum company. I'm not sure if they are conjoined or not. Not a joke.
