Alright will this is my first post
As soon as i sell my mapex m birch i am going to be a upgrading into a new kit
and i am not sure which one i want to get i have tried them all they all sound good to me but i am going to have this kit for a while so i need something that will live up to its name

i have only played the mapex and the pdp. i havent heard good things about Ddrum ever, so i doubt that kit is the best choice. i havent heard anything about the avalon, so i have no idea there. as for the kits i know about, i prefer the mapex over the pdp, but thats probably because its better for metal and thats what i play. i have also heard that the wrap on the X7 peels after a few months.

Hey, I currently own a PDP maple kit, it is not the X7 but other than the small 8inch tom, the drum sizes are the same as the X7. I had to change all the factory heads to Evans g2's on the toms and an eq3 on the bass drum, also replaced the front head on the bass as the factory one was crap. NOW the drums sound like they cost FAR more than I paid for them, including the head changes. That said, Mapex has a very strong reputation and I'm currently looking at a Mapex birch kit as my 2nd kit. Mapex hardware is FAR better than PDP's as well. Hope this helps.
