How can i make my kit sound better?

Ok I have a Tama Superstar 8 peice, and zildjian a custom cymbals... I love my Kit!

But my toms and my snare sound Horrible!!!!!!!!

I have Remo pinstripe heads on, and my snare is still the stock snare drum, my cymbals i have no complaints.

But no matter how i tune it, or if i use moon gel or not my toms sound either choked, tooo high, or they have not quality sound at all..

Is there something im missing here? I would love a warm low, but tuned sound and i cant find it, and i know how to tune.

Any help would be great!

I have a 9pcs Gretch kit with Remo Pinstripes, but I use the drum dial to tune them.

Are you trying to tune an 8pcs kit by ear?

I had the same problem until I used the right tool for the right job. It would take me days before I could tune my drums by ear. With the drum dial it only takes me a few hours. With this tool you can find the right tuning spectrum and then fine tune to your taste.
