Setting up a drum kit with a keyboard.

I think this could be a fairly unusual question, so feel free to sink your teeth in to my problem.

I recently purchased a 25 key synthesiser/keyboard/midi controller (A novation Xiosynth, if it matters) and my primary goal is to play the synth with one hand (right) with a stick in the left. I have tried simply resting the synth on the floor tom, but it slips regularly, obviously gives me one less tom to work with, and sound engineers don't really appreciate it.

now I've thought about several options, some type of clamp stand to clamp onto the ride symbal stand, but would this be stable?

I've also though about simply purchasing another ride cymbal or boom stand and attaching some variety of flat surface to the top and resting the synthesiser or that, Having the synth below and to the left of the existing ride cymbal.

I saw a session drummer on youtube who used the ride cymbal-stand-clamp (for lack of a better name :P) method, but for a drum machine, and it got me thinking.

I may or may not post pictures in the next few hours.

Any help/advice/pictures/links to other dummers who do this would be appreciated.

Thanks.

If you don't mind not having a floor tom, the get rid of it, and get an "X" stand(I don't know the name of them) and put it there with the synth on top of it. They're meant for keyboards and orchestral bass drums mostly. If you don't know what I mean, I'll try to get a picture.

Thanks for the reply, but I would prefer to still have a floor tom available.

How about a stand where the tom fits also, maybe something similar to this one?
