My kit?!?! I have a Duke by Dixon kit. It's red, and I bought it used. It looks really old, but I can't find any history on it at all. I don't know what wood it is(it looks like particle board ), and I have no idea when they were made or anything. Could anyone help on the subject. Have you seen anything about them? |

Re: My kit?!?! Ya, Jim. I've checked out all of those sites, and I haven't found the Duke... I've seen about all their new kits, but can't fine the old ones. And mine's DEFINITELY old! |

Re: My kit?!?! does it sound good? if so who cares what kind of wood it is! unless your refinishing it. then it doesn't matter as much, except for how it will take stain/laquer/paint. |

Re: My kit?!?! I've looked around some, and I'm not finding much. I've seen some drum ads, but without pictures. Not a smidge of history, except that Dixon Drums started out in Germany in 1979 as a drum hardware manufacturer. Next to nothing about Dixon in the Vintage Drum Forum. Dixon Drums has active My Space and Facebook pages. Whether someone there could help, I don't know.
Good hunting.

Re: My kit?!?! That's all I found. And I'm just curious, and actually it doesn't sound too great. Perhaps if I were to buy a new kit, if I knew what wood it is, maybe perhaps I may avoid it. Sorry that phrase was a little ambiguous... |
