Re: High End Drums vs. Mid Range

Hey TJ,

Sorry to hear about your back man! You old guys just ought to take it easy! I had a surveying course in college where we had to work outside quite a bit doing different surveying tasks. I gave my TI to one of the less gifted members of the team I was on that day in order for him to calculate the data as we progressed thru the plot. He was responsible only for running the 'rod'. Somehow he got the TI to lock up and forevermore when turned on, all it would display is 'EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE'. I happily moved on to a HP 41CVX. It changed my life and pretty much got me thru college. It's almost 30 years old now and still going stong. People laugh at me for using such an antique. Yeah, those were the days for sure!

Re: High End Drums vs. Mid Range

I just went through that process as well. I did find a wide range is preference on the way people think drums should sound. I ended up purchasing the Mapex Saturn based on all the forums on how great they sound and how they are made for the price. The Saturns also use the same hardware as the Orions which have a much cleaner look. Im getting the Pop Fusion 22 with Black Nickle hardware which is a 7 pc set for under 2k. Couldnt beat that anywhere. I strongly suggest checking out Mapex. Everything of equal quality was much more $.
