Ludwig Element

Hey there, this is my first post so i will start by saying HEY to everyone.
Alright now I will get to my questions. Can anyone tell me if you know much about the Ludwig Element series? I guess it is the new series taking place of the Accent CS with some upgrades but I could be wrong. I got a chance to play this kit for about 10 minutes at a gig my friends band was doing. Well I loved the way it sounded, but it could have been the way it was miked. Anyway, I ran into this kit for sale and could not hold back and I bought it! (online). For some reason I just HAD to have it!

The kit is A Ludwig Element Natural Laquer finish 4 piece 12x8MT 16x13FT 22x18 Bass and 6.5x14 snare. It has Remo Ambassador heads on all drums.

I really dont know a whole lot about this set so I am asking if anyone has any pros or cons on this set and the Remo heads. I do know it should make for a good setup with all the cymbals I have to go with this kit. And it should sound a little better than my old CB. If anyone has any input, I am all ears....thanks

Re: Ludwig Element

If it sounded great to you then set yours up just like the one you played. I am betting that the one you tried did not have the stock heads on it. Most stock heads tend to be on the low end of the quality scale, so you can make a huge jump in sound quality by replacing them right away.

That is a gorgeous looking kit (looked at the Natural Burst finish on the Ludwig site) and because it is Birch it will give nice rich deeper tones. This is a definate improvement over the CB you are playing. Congrats!

Re: Ludwig Element

I did play a kit at JD drum center which sounded great! but it could be psychological as im a big fan of Ludwig drums. The kit had a sort of vintage bronze look to it which looked beautiful. As far as im concerned anything with the name Ludwig on it RULES!.

Re: Ludwig Element

Hello fellow drummer I just picked up a element power fusion kit in natural burst, the kit was in the factory box so I had to put it all together, that was when i could see all the attention to detail, the fit and finish looked like a high end kit and then came the sound WOW i was floored. I just sold a Sonor 3007 special edition maple that sounded great the only down fall with Sonor was the chrome on the lugs. I hope that helps.

Re: Ludwig Element

The Remo Ambassador heads are the best heads to use on all Ludwig drums.

I Also used the Remo Weather Kings on the snare with my old 1959 Black Onyx Rock kit for that sharp cracking sound. Remo clear heads for the res side.

I regret getting rid of them, but there was too much damage from playing them for many years.
