Re: Ddrums

Buddy,
I spent a fair amount of time looking for the set configuration you want in your price range yesterday. Here's the one alternative I came up with.

Gretsch made a Catalina Club Mod 5-piece set which had the virgin bass and the one up two down configuration until they discontinued it this year. If you can find a used set, the configuration and price should be right, and the shells are mahogany. You're not going to find the same color scheme as the ddrum, but the set is made in black.

Good hunting.

Re: Ddrums

wow thanx alot man. Ill go look for that. it looks nice. Im finding them in various models and price ranges. This could be fun thanx man. Heres a Q though. I currently have a tama Swingstar Bass Drum hooked up to my really crappy set right now. what If I bought A tom tom and a floor tom instead. hmmmm... That might work.

Re: Ddrums

Well, that's the rule -- whatever works. TAMA doesn't make Swingstars anymore, but you might find some used. I don't know enough about punk -- could you mix and match drums?

On the Catalina price, they sold for about $1000 new, and for $900 while being phased out. I just figured that used prices would have to come in under that -- some of them hopefully in your $700 range.

Enjoy the search.

Re: Ddrums

BUDDY,
Check this out
Buy Mapex Pro M Crossover 22 Drum Shell Pack | Complete Drum Sets | Musician's Friend

Maple shells, virgin bass, 1 up 2 down, $700.

In another post, Der Trommler has written: The Mapex Pro M has been discontinued (renamed Meridian M and has a lug change), but it is a very good set. This one is a smoking good deal for the buy it now price as it comes with all double braced stands as well as the shell pack. This is shown as a virgin bass (I would check before you bid to be sure) and the new Mapex Meridians are not offered with a virgin bass anymore as far as I can tell. This is definately worth consideration.

Re: Ddrums

Discontinued means the company's not making them anymore, but some are still in the stores and available. I hope things work out.
