CONGRATULATIONS! Beat 'em up.

I believe those are birch inner and outer plies with a poplar core, according to the Ludwig site.
Yes they do have a poplar core
The guy who sold the set is called "cymbaldude", I believe the name of the store is Cheap Beats out of West VA
I was the only one to bid on this kit and it started at 499.
I checked on there last night and the same set he raised the starting bid to 575..hmmm. But still throwing in all ludwig heavy duty hardware and stands

Re: Ludwig or Ddrum

I'm starting to look for some used kits. It's starting look like I might as well save up and just aim for something top of the line. Problem with an expensive kit the fact that I will be do a lot of heavy gigging, so it needs to be moved around so much. Scared to move a $1000+ kit around multiple times a week, and then even go on tour with it.

Re: Ludwig or Ddrum

You will always get more drum for the money if you buy them used. I recently saw a Mapex Orion go for 20% of the retail value. Whoever got it was a fortunate sole.

Hey Gus, I saw that Gretsch about an hour b4 you posted, it's a good deal.

Also saw the Pearl kit earlier this week. Looks like he dropped it from 800.

I may jump on one of those. If I don't, then I'll save bit more and get something custom from SJC drums. Heard they are pretty good.

Re: Ludwig or Ddrum

Cant beat masters, though the tom sizes are kind of weird...

A friend of mine who is endorsed by silver fox, has the same Gretsch.

If you go custom, support a local company. I purchased a used local customs (keller shells) I don't regret it a bit.
