Re: Ludwig 1969 Ringo Starr Drum set What do you need exactly. Wraps, hardware, rims, etc...
Who made these drums? |

Re: Ludwig 1969 Ringo Starr Drum set There are quite a few different sellers of lugs, rims, bolts and other hardware, it all depends on the look and budget you're after.
As for the shells, there are so many things that could be wrong them I wouldn't even know where to start.
My advice would be to find a manufacturer/repairer near you and take it in. |

Re: Ludwig 1969 Ringo Starr Drum set I took them in into a local drum shop and talk to a guy for a while about them. What I was told originally about them was false, its not a ringo starr drumset. It is ludwig, which is the brand that he played, but it is not related to him at all. It is also a starter set, because there is only one lug for two drum key rod. He also said it was made before 1969 as well. And All the hoops and lugs on it were made of nickel. This is just all i remember from what he told me, hah. I just want some sources to get drum parts for it and to learn more about it in general. And the color is black, if that helps. |

Re: Ludwig 1969 Ringo Starr Drum set Before you can get parts, you need to look inside the drums for a date and serial stamp. Old Ludwigs are known for that.
So check out the badge and look for that date stamp inside. One of the old colors used by them within that era was Black Onyx. Ludwig Drum Collection and Archive at the National Music Museum
This info is also posted in the drum history section of the forum. |

Re: Ludwig 1969 Ringo Starr Drum set I checked out inside the drums and there was no date stamps inside any of them. There are several different serial numbers on all the different badges of the drums. |

Are they on the list below? I found this to be an interesting guide to find the year of Ludwigs.
