You probably won't keep this kit for long anyway, especially if you buy a lower level kit that your ($500 to $600)price range can handle. That new kit will depreciate like a rock the minute you carry it out the door of the store, so if you later aren't in love with it, you will take a severe financial beating. There are always used

Tama Rockstar,
Gretsch Catalina, pdp and others out there, usually with name-brand cymbals, at around half what they cost new, usually less than half. I have personally sold many of these kits used for $375 to $650, complete with
Zildjian/Sabian/Meinl/Paiste cymbals, most in extremely nice condition. If you decide to sell those later, you will get a lot larger percentage of your money back.
