Re: [Need Advice] about Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute

If you got a Yamaha Maple Custom set that included cymbals, stands, throne, pedals and the shell pack for $5500.00 then you did good. They are great quality, fantastic sounding drums.

Re: [Need Advice] about Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute

Yes, it's custom, and it's considered a step above Yamaha's best regular maple drumset. Tune it right, and it should sound terrific. Time to learn about drum tuning. Since they are being discontinued in the USA, maybe they're getting scarce the world over.

Your pastor is a man of action. Schedule your drum lessons now. I hope you are pleased with this kit. Let me know.

Those thin shells sound great, but you will want to protect them with cases anytime you're moving the drums around.

Re: [Need Advice] about Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute

hi guys, sorry for the late reply, yesterday was sunday, got a busy schedule at church recently.

I'm so glad to know this Yamaha MCA quality! Can't wait to try it after it's coming! I hope this week the drum will arrive.

Oh the Set price I said above was only for the drum set, for the whole set including the cymbals and a additional stand it's around US $7113

sorry for the odd number, because it's the direct exchange rate from rupiahs hahaha..

@DerTrommler : wow that's a very good price for that kind of set! I hope the price I got is still in normal range...

@dtxtremeiiispecial : really glad to hear that! yes we should tune it correctly! I asked my local store to help about the tune, they said they will give me a program that could be linked with the mixer and it'll help tuning the drum, anyone ever hear about this?

yes I read it's being discontinued at USA.. I wonder why..

yes I'm glad my pastor really care about the music and sound quality. Sure!! I will practice harder now! I just know if there's this kind of forum that discussing about drum really well!

I'll notice that, to be careful when moving the drumset! I'll take photo of the drum later after they come!! Thank you very much everyone!!! really appreciate the encouragement!! God bless you all!!!

The easiest way to tune all those drums quickly and make them sound good is to use a Drum Dial. I am sure that your music store has one, if not look into it.

Re: [Need Advice] about Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute

Thank you for getting back to us.

To tune drums, we look at YouTube tapes of Bob Gatzen; he demonstrates how to do it.
We also read an online book, The Drum Tuning Bible. the drum tuning bible - Google Search

We also buy a tool called the Drum Dial. It helps.

I don't know about using the mixer to tune drums. First time I've heard of it.

Thank you again for letting us know how things are going! Stay in touch!

Re: [Need Advice] about Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute

the cymbalss... it's not ready stock yet.. have to wait 6 months... so we bought some cymbals and use the old cymbals temporarily. In this set the best cymbal we got is the 16" Zildjian K Dark Custom.. the sound is very gorgeous!! We will buy the ready stock cymbals, the K Dark Custom Hi-Hat and HHX crash..

Re: [Need Advice] about Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute

Wow, what a beautiful drum set! Did the kit also come with the Subkick? You will have to retune the drums as they get played more and more, particularly when they are brand new heads. New heads will stretch pretty quickly as they seat and get played.

I'm glad the drums sound so good! They look great! Thank you so much for getting back to us.

Setup is very personal. I can't tell you what's good or bad. It has to work well for you. I see nothing wrong with the setup.

Thanks for sending all the pictures. Enjoy the drums.

Re: [Need Advice] about Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute

Thanks dtxtremeiiispecial and Der Trommler! the sub kick comes from the old set, we buy it separately a long time ago though ^^

yes the setup is different for every player, well as long it's fit enough and enjoyable then it should be ok then! ^^

I feel so pity if I'm not pro enough and I play a Pro stuff like this, but it's really motivating me! hAHahahah..

thanks guys!
