[Need Advice] about Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute

hi guys, I'm kinda new here, but let me explain the situation, well, my church were looking for a good drum to play, actually the budget is really doesn't matter, but we look for something that's ready stock and fast. So finally my local drum store offering us with a Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute with Yellow Sparkle Fade finishing, they said this is the last piece available in Indonesia or if I miss it they don't get any good piece of drum set in stock.

I'm kinda in a confusion here, what do you think about this Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute with Yellow Sparkle Fade finishing? with unlimited budget what do you think is the best, Yamaha or DW? my church actually want to try PHX but the order time took around 6 months...

btw my local store offering this Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute with Yellow Sparkle Fade finishing with price tag around US $5,760

any advice about this situation? please... I'm kinda new into the PRO drumming set..

btw I'm currently living in Indonesia, this drum is gonna be used for my church...

I'd really appreciate any advice! Thank you!

Re: [Need Advice] about Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute

so after all, I mean, does this Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute is a really good set?

and if we compare it with other drums nowadays do you think it's still good to get this Yamaha? and also with price tag at US $ 5,760?

thank you!

Re: [Need Advice] about Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute

It's a great-sounding maple kit! First rate, in my opinion. But everyone has different opinions. If you can, you want to play the drumset and also listen to someone else play it. If you want maple, I'd say this one would be tough to beat.

I can't give any opinion on the finish. The store says it's the last piece in Indonesia. That may be true, or the store may just be trying to close the sale. Don't cave in to the pressure --just decide if it's the set you want or not.

Re: [Need Advice] about Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute

thank you dtxtremeiiispecial!!! So this Yamaha is a very good drum set! I'm relieved! I will ask for more details about this set to my local store then! The problem is the item is currently in other city, well I will try my best to get sync with this set then.

errr, about the price... is US$5,760 is a good price? at this rate, with that budget could I get a better drum than the Yamaha MC Absolute? I mean, the DW set or anything?

Re: [Need Advice] about Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute

Well, I just noticed that on the Yamaha website it says that the Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute has been discontinued in the USA. This may mean that prices on the remaining sets may be marked down in some stores.

Also, the Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute has thinner shells than the Yamaha Absolute Maple, and these thinner shells are designed for maximum resonance -- a quality feature.

How big of a drumset do you want?

The Memphis Drum Shop has a 3-piece set (you would have to buy a snare) in a beautiful natural finish for $2,310. This might be a good time to shop around for price on the Internet.

If I were buying a yellow drumset, I would want to see at least a picture of it first. Do you want a yellow drumset? If not, you don't want the Yamaha, if that's the last set available.

I'll check a little more, but if you're not on a budget, you could certainly get a DW set with a choice of colors. I'll see what you could get a good DW maple set for.

Re: [Need Advice] about Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute

that's it! I need to see the yellow drum set first, btw is there any difference if it's a yellow drumset?

the drum set size maybe it's a big set for a full band team in my church. Well honestly our drum players aren't pro enough to play the drum, including me, I'm not pro enough but I really loves drum So this is the another dilemma I have, what's the point to get a hi-end drum set if the players doesn't pro enough to play it.. so I think I will just go for the Sound Quality.

And as time goes by I believe our skills will develops and then we're ready for a hi-end drum set ^^

Usually my church would use a drum set for a very long period, maybe 10 years... this time we're using Sonor, i forgot the version, it's blue oak, not glossy.. it's been used almost 10 years now...

about the internet store, looks like that's a good price, but there will be another additional shipping cost maybe?

I'm going to my local store now, they just called me, because since yesterday the drum set is get interested by another person in other city, so I have to decide fast... let see if this set would my soulmate or not, well I have to think about this seriously... thank you very much dtxtremeiiispecial I'm really appreciate your useful information and kind helps!

Don't buy the drumset unless you're sure you want it. I don't necessarily believe this idea of the "other buyer."

As for yellow, I just think a lot of folks wouldn't want a yellow drumset.

And from the Memphis Drum Shop there would definitely be substantial shipping charges to Indonesia.

Well, good luck. Don't get pressured into anything. You can always get a good DW set.

Re: [Need Advice] about Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute

hi dtxtremeiiispecial after I have a long chat with the local store, they explain everything, yes it's a maple custom absolute with yellow sparkle fade that seems like a gold, well my pastor doesn't really think about that and he really want a new set as fast as possible, so it was decided to get this Yamaha MC Absolute...

they said it's a custom made, the main store at jakarta ordered it with this color, and about the other buyer it's because the main store at jakarta has many link to the other store, so they inform the stock, and at this case the other store at the other city offers their customer too, well that's the story, but now it's has been taken by my church..

well after we think about it, I think this is a good pick, the price is quite good for semi-pro, and we're focusing at the sound quality, and the only hi-end set that's Ready Stock is just this Yamaha.

Well, after all this Yamaha MC Absolute is still a very good piece isn't it dtxtremeiiispecial? need to get used to her later hahahaha... it will come next week at tuesday... coming with :

Zildjian Crash hybrid 14"
K Custom 18"
Z Crash Hybrid 16"
Z Ride Hybrid 20"
Z K Custom Splash 10"
Sabian HHX Ozone

and the drum finally deal in US $5,597...

Time to praticing become a Pro now..

Thank you very much dtxtremeiiispecial!!! I'm really appreciate your kind helps!! I'm so lucky to found this forum thank you! I hope I'm not wrong on buying this set
