I think sometimes the size of your kit has more to do with being a respect thing, because a majority of fans of music think 'oh, he/she has a big kit, they must be great.' At the moment I'm playing with a 5-Piece kit, with just a ride, a splash and a crash. I want an extra rack tom, an extra floor tom, a china, and another splash and crash. I don't just want this to play rolls and think i'm cool; when i play on my school's drum kit which has a bit extra, i find that i have more creativity and that's the main reason i want to expand my kit.

I can play happily on smaller kits, but i just want a larger one for creativity. I don't want anything near Terry Bozzio. That guys kit just takes the.....

When you get really good on a smaller kit, you'll find the needs for more creativity.

How to tune a GONG.

Place a cat under it and strike it. If you find the need to pull the cat off the ceiling with a crow bar, it's tuned just right.
