Which Drum Set Should I Get??

Alright I have been drumming for a few years and right now I have the biggest piece of **** (gammon) covered in nice shinny things (zildjian ZBTs) so needless to say basically I need a new kit =D I play in a mostly punk/ska/alternative band (and anything else we find catchy to play) I have picked out a few that I believe would suit me well and are in a good price they are not in list of favoritism just random. SO the question is which kit is the best buy? which kit would sound the best? and which kit should I get? also ill take any suggestions!!! thanks for your time!

I suggest that the best buy, the best-sounding kit, and the kit you should get are all the same, since the kit that sounds best to you will also be the best buy in the long run and the kit you should get.

There is no substitute for actually playing the kits, and listening to the kits being played. That's how you find out what sounds best to you.

For my money, Gretsch is a quality company and the shells are maple -- two big convincers for me. But you've got to play them, or at least her them being played.

Good hunting, man!

If I were you I would definitely go for the Gretsch or the Tama.

They are both of nice quality, and most of the time sound awesome(:
Definitely test drums from the brand before you buy though.
You don't want something with great looks but crappy sounds, you know what I'm sayin?

From what you have laid out I would pick the Gretsch kit. I have never been a big fan of ddrums and Tama well everyone plays them. I have always liked Gretsch drums although I have never owned any, My freind did and his was a solid wll built kit. If you check out this and other forums you'll find in that Gretsch is generally a highly regarded Drum manufacture and the "Catalina" series is especially highly thought of. T
