yamaha DD-65 electronic drum kit

In a couple of days ill be getting the dd-65 and the primary reason I'm getting it is so that I can play drums on the go. My two questions are- 1.would the dd-65 be a good portable drum set? If not please suggest another portable set, 2.can I hook my double bass pedal up to it or buy an add-on that would allow me to hook the double pedal up to it??

Does this kit come with The Yamaha Survival Kit C is a necessity for the Yamaha DD-65 digital drum machine. The kit includes PA5D power adapter, 2-year extended warranty, headphones, and DVD?

Yeah, I was also curious about the qualities of different electronic drumsets.
What is/are the best brand(s) to purchase?
I've heard Yamaha is the bomb, but as far as that I'm clueless.

Re: yamaha DD-65 electronic drum kit

Yamaha is the bomb! (One man's opinion.)

First, I recently posted a review of the Pearl e-Pro electronic drumset in Drums and Drum Sets.
Check it out.

Secondly, I researched and played the $3000 - level Yamaha and Roland drumsets side by side in December and bought the Yamahas, no contest.

The Yamaha sounds are just better than the Roland sounds, and I even preferred the Yamaha rubber heads to Roland's mesh heads -- more realistic bounce. Yamaha uses the actual sounds of Yamaha drums as the sounds for the drumsets in the kit. And the sounds are terrific -- every time I play the Maple Custom Absolute set, I have a seizure!

With 50 different drumsets and 50 more you can create yourself, 50 songs to play along to (which you can adjust -- tempo & sounds), I just had a tremendous experience playing the Yamahas in the drum shop, and since then at home. My set is the YAMAHA DTXTREMEIIISPECIAL.

Now, I don't believe electronic cymbals will ever equal your favorite Zildjians, et.al, but then,
you can smash the baloney out of an electronic cymbal, get a great crash sound, and no one will ever hear it outside the headphones, either.

Yamaha has a new $7000 set out that makes mine sound like cows farting, but then, I'll never hear the difference. Besides, I don't mind cookin' with gas.

The $7,000 kit comes with newly designed heads with lots of tiny bubbles in them, vastly expanded electronics capabilities, and the second horseman of the apocalypse for wreaking musical cataclysm upon demand.

Re: yamaha DD-65 electronic drum kit

just got the yamaha dd-60 tonight. turns out it was dd-60 not 65 dont know the difference though. It works great! i love it and its so great because now when my mom interrupts my practice and says its 10:00 noise ordinance (im only 15) i can just go play the dd-60. What im really excited about is that its so portable and that i can take it practicly anywhere. By the way jim, it came with a adapter cord to plug into the wall, a DVD, and drumsticks. No headphones or warranty though?
