what external mic do you use? Has it ever shut off on you?

I use the mic that was specified for the camera. So contact the support people at their website or better still, call them. The number is at the site. Everio makes like 5 different models.

I never had this problem with the mic they sent me, and the sound is great.

Here is the support phone number: (800) 252-5722

Re: Recording/ condenser mics

I linked the thread below on drum recording. All these professional mics are condenser type. Just to give you an idea.

Turns out my camera doesnt have an external mic port. Do you think I should go to like best buy and ask for a camera with external mic port?

Re: Recording/ condenser mics

I thought you said you had an Everio. I would suggest doing some research on some camcorders before deciding. After going to Best Buy I would go online to "Shopzzilla.com" or "Pricegrabber.com" and compare the prices. I got mine through HSN when they had a 50% off on these models to make room for their new line.

Tis the season for price comparison. Either way you can't loose. Also check out your local camera shop or J&R.com on line. Most of these stores are trying to get rid of the older models.

Re: Recording/ condenser mics

Thanks. Its an Everio alright.. Probably a different model though.
I think I found the problem too. A guy on an answer website said that there may be a corrupt file on there. I replaced the file he said, and I have yet to test it.
I will test it on a song that I may put on youtube soon.
