Evans Power Center Revearse Dot

Has anybody experienced denting on a PCRD ? The skin is only been on for about 2 months. I'am a heavy hitter but I never experienced this.

Re: Evans Power Center Revearse Dot

I have had mine on for about that long as well, no denting here, either. I am a hard hitter as well. My head is hardly scuffed actually, but then I haven't been playing as much since school has started up again.

Let me ask you, though, do you like the reverse dot head? I don't think I will ever use one again. It just makes my snare sound like crap. I am no expert tuner, but I can tune a snare drum pretty easily to a good sound. With this head, I can only achieve good sound in the very center of the head. I know that is kind of the point of the reverse dot, but even the sound in the middle is not very good. A head should not sacrifice good sound throughout the head for average sound in the center. What do you think?

Usually head denting is due to loose tuning. The heads must be tight and in equal tension all around the rim.
