Hi,

I am about to upgrade both my batter and resonant heads on my 22" bass drum. For batter i am running with Remo powerstroke 3 with 2.5 inch falam patch. I am currently running a resonant head with no portal however i was thinking about going with an evans EQ3...i do like a punchy bass but would prefer it with the least amount of muffling as i dont want to lose the character of the bass still....anyone familiar with these heads or have any opinions on the set up?

adding a porthole to the resonant head will give you more punch out of any head combo.

i understand the mechanics of the porthole in the resonant head but was more interested in feed back for the head combo i am going to run with. thanks for the reply though
