Drum Throne Selection

Hello:

I've finally decided to buy a "quality" drum throne.

I've read the reviews and it's narrowed down to three choices.

Pork Pie, Roc n Soc, and the Tama Ergo Ryder. The prices is about the same, and it appears that personal choice might be the deciding factor.

Any recommendations on the Tama Ergo Ryder? The reviews are interesting, any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks
Ramiro

Re: Drum Throne Selection

In my opinion, the Pork Pies are the comfiest. However, the ergo ryder is a little firmer (not much, it gets softer the longer you sit in it) and I can see myself sitting on it for ages.

But when it comes time, I will probably go with a white/black swirl Pork Pie

I don't think you can go wrong with any of those choices really. At this point sit in all of them and make your choice is the advice I would give you. I personally use the Roc N Soc nitro with a backrest and for me it is very nice.

I love mine even though it doesn't have a back rest.

Its your bottom not ours.

Re: Drum Throne Selection

Im also interested in a new throne, around How much does a good one go for? I find that when i play for hours on end with the band my throne forces me to get up because it gets so uncomfortable after long periods of time/

I would go to the drum shops and give them the butt test.

Ever consider a saddle throne?

Re: Drum Throne Selection

I love my roc n soc nitro saddle. I wouldn't reccomend anything else. I have the one with the super stable 5-leg plastic base. Only problem is that its a little bulky, but you can get the one with fold up legs.
