Re: Aquarian Heads

I use Aquarian Super Kick II's on my Bass Drums, Remo (Powerstroke 3 and Ambassador) on everything else - it's just what works for me.

I've used Aquarian heads on snares and toms, and they are fine.

I'm Using a double thin for my rack tom batter head, and it sounds fine, though there are some dents that my floor tom batter doesn't have.
Saying I bought it for $5, and it was is my test head for my Suspension mounted tom and I'm still using it, I give it above average.

I had an Aquarian Performance 2 head, because Hanson's drum tech discarded it after replacing it. My kit doesn't use a 12" so I gave it the Boys and Girls club. When I saw his drums the likely hood of that being an above average head on my book grew.

Re: Aquarian Heads

I don't care for how much the Hi-Energy heads ring out. Plus they're not as strong as they say they are - the second two plies don't extend over the entire head leaving a ring around the outside that is just one ply. I've gone through 3 Hi-Energies in the same amount of time it took for me to use up one Emperor X which doesn't ring out forever like the the Hi-Energy does.

Loosing volume really hasn't been an issue. I've had great dynamic control with these heads on DW 22" x 18" BDs.

I think (the band) Ruiner's drummer went through the high energy quickly too.
