Which kick head do you guys perfer Emad2 or SK2? I can't make up my mind.

I personally prefer the Evans EMAD2, but I hear good things about the SuperKick also.

I perffer the Emad 2. But then again I've never played a superkick sooooo....... ya haha. All I can tell u is that The Emads are good haha.

I have used both.

The characteristics:

SKII: use if you want a deep, warm but slightly diffuse kick sound. The punch is mellow.

EMAD II: Bright attack with the same depth. Use if you prefer a sharper attack.

that pretty much nails it. i never used the evans but i have used sk11 for about 4 years. they are very durable and dont loose shape (I had sk11 for over a year on my bass drum) but they have a fatter tone to them

I agree with 1986Tama - I have used both, but prefer the SKII due to the types of music I play / record. In some large venues , however, I use a trigger - so it really doesn't matter except for "feel".

what a coincidence, I just took off my emad 2 for a sk1. I personally liked the emad better because i liked how much attack it supplied. It had more of that heavy metal drummers kick sound. What i like about the sk1 is that its white muffling ring on the inside of it allowed me to take out the small pillow i had in my kick while using the emad2 (this allows me to get the full tone out of my kick drum). Those are the two biggest differences i noticed between them but it depends on your preference, i hope your happy with your choice.
