Re: EC2 SST vs G2 tom batters for Sonor SQ2s

I have found the EC2 SSTs to be the most "open sounding" double ply heads on the market.. The "EC" stands for edge control and that being said..they only control the higher frequency ringyness. I find the attack to be pronounced as well as the lower frequencies somewhat enhanced.. I suppose it's like anything else. What works for some may not work for others.

I've been on g2's for a while now and I love 'em. For the heaviness of your sound I'd recomend the EC2's. Great sound with a bit more focus to punch through that heavy guitar sound. In fact I'm thinking of trying them out myself next time around.

Winds of plague's drummer used them when I saw him 8 10 12 16. He most likely still is too.

If you are looking for a "musical" sock in the jaw..The EC2 SST heads / EC resos are the shizzle-dizzle-yo

Also I have been a paiste man since I started drumming at fourteen. I've been working my way up to signatures for a long time but recently someone showed me around some ufip cymbals and I am converted. I strongly advise you check out their brilliant and class ranges before you order.
