Kick Drum Trigger

I recently invested in drum triggers. I have ddrum triggers and a Roland TD-9 module. After playing on them for a while, the kick drum trigger starts re-triggering in such a manner that it almost sounds like I'm "double bassing" it. Sometimes it even fires several times for just one strike of the beater. I've adjusted everything I can find in the module, and have even messed with head tension, but only to a limited extent. Any suggestions?

Re: Kick Drum Trigger

I think you are experiencing bleed from your drums, other sounds setting off the bass trigger.

Too bad, I don't know how to fix it

Youtube trigger bleed or something. I'll keep looking, too.

Re: Kick Drum Trigger

Drum trigger bleed can be caused by a lose or partial broken connection within the cable or the contacts.

A little bit of contact spray could solve the problem. Contact cleaners can be optained from Radio Shack or a local hardware store.

Allways go the cheapest way first. Double check your wiring, jiggle the conections also check if the alignment on the triggers are correct. Keep the cables away from crossing each other to avoid cross signals.
