Question Kick Port and Aquarian Regulator

Could anyone tell me,I use a Aquarian Regulator Resonant Head on the Kick,Would there be any point fitting a Kick Port?,Would it make any difference in anyway,Has anyone paired these together, and what was the outcome.

Re: Kick Port and Aquarian Regulator

Regulator has a 7" hole, right? I think you would have to get a smaller porthole, since the kickport is supposed to be accomodated by a 5-5.5" hole.

Interesting, though, using a kickport with a central port. How big is your bass drum?

Re: Kick Port and Aquarian Regulator

I've got the Regulator linked below paired with a KickPort and I love it.
I recommend it.
Mic'd with a D6 inside the drum mine sounds awesome.
Super Kick 2 for a batter and both heads tuned loose.
I also dampen both heads with a mover's blanket inside the drum because I like the way a dry kick sounds. If I want a little resonance from the drum I can dial it in specifically at the frequency I want with the EQ. A dry kick is also much easier on the various sound guys I soundcheck with through out the week. They all comment how easy and quickly it is to dial in the right sound.
The KickPort is tuned in the 30Hz - 50Hz range and the D6 has a boost around 60Hz so virtually NO EQing is needed.
