Travis Fan Are YOU A F***ING IDIOT WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE AESTHETICS OF DRUM IS THE ONLY THING . TO ME AND TO ALOT MORE DRUMMERS SOUND IS BETTER THAN LOOKS I WOULD RATHER HAVE A GREEN AND BLUE VOMIT COLORED KIT THAT SOUNDED LIKE A MILLION BUCKS THAN A NICE LOOKING CUSTOM PAINTED KIT THAT
SOUNDED LIKE VOMIT. THE AESTHETICS OF A DRUM SHOULD BE HE LAST THING A DRUMMER THINKS ABOUT IT COMES IN THIS ORDER: SOUND, PRICE, COLOR. NOW AS FOR THE DRUMMERS BEING PERFORMERS YEAH WE ARE BUT AGAIN A GREAT SOUNDING KIT THAT LOOKS LIKE VOMIT IS BETTER THAN A KIT THAT SOUNDS LIKE VOMIT> WHO GIVES A CRAP HOW THE KIT LOOKS LIKE. ITS ALL ABOUT SOUND SOUND SOUND SOUND

thank you drummer 111.
A little harsher than I would have gone but I think it gets the point across.

I think it can be a little hard to understand the diffrence between what we have and what the guys we go to watch have.

they always sound good and have great looking kits and for some very obviose reasons.
the big one of course is that they are sponsered.
and the other one is that they have a drum tech who gets paid a lot of money to tune their sets put them up and break them down for them.

I rember seeing an interveiw with metallica years ago and when the first got together lars had a muppet kit. anyof you that dosnt know what that is it is a drum set that is put together from other kits so one drum might be blue and another red and green and so on and so on.

but we are no diffrent than a guitarest or any other insterment you go out sounding like crap and that is what you are going to play like crap its got to sound good.

ok, i think you guys have misunderstood me.. what i was saying is this: coated heads and clear heads pretty much sound the same to me.. and considering this, i would go for the clear heads because they look better.. of course sound is number 1 but since thats taken care of id go for the looks next and get some clears..

If you like cardbox alike sound yeah but I prefer my drums to sing and resonate so single ply without muffling (not even moongel) for me.
